Treetop Cottage is located in an in-town yet secluded neighborhood. All homes in the neighborhood are set on two to three acre parcels to preserve privacy and enjoy the natural beauty of this place. The neighborhood and homes are easily accessed by single lane gravel roads. People walk them as much as they drive them. Even with the privacy of the neighborhood, the cottage is two miles from the Village of Cheshire with restaurants, a boutique food market, and our local YMCA. Downtown Black Mountain is a quick five-minute drive offering shopping, a supermarket, restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, and bookstores. Lake Tomahawk is a pleasant place to walk and take in the views of the Seven Sister Mountain range. Our rec park is a mile from your front door, complete with playing fields and a disc golf course. The larger and eclectic Asheville is only 15-20 minutes away depending on your destination. Explore the breweries, shops, eateries, and bohemian culture. Black Mountain and Asheville are surrounded by national forests and a hour or more drive to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park (depending on where you enter). There is an outdoor adventure in almost any direction you turn. A hiking, climbing, paddling, biking, and fly fishing paradise. If rest and play are both things you enjoy, look no further than Treetop Cottage.

The cottage is surrounded by oaks, beech trees, mountain laurel, rhododendron, and sky. It is a place of private tranquility while quickly accessible to anything and everything Black Mountain, Asheville, and the surrounding Appalachians have to offer. Since Treetop Cottage is accessed by a single lane gravel road a car is necessary. All the roads in the neighborhood are safe, and easy to navigate. You may need to yield to a neighbor, but if you drive with care and caution there is no need for concern. No public transportation comes to the house, but an Uber or Lyft will get you here just fine. GPS may lead you down the wrong road, but when you book we will send you detailed instructions on exactly where to go. The roads are also great for walking, just take care not to go up any private driveways.
